    Creative Workshops at Helsinglight year 2020!

    We are currently in the midst of massive renovations at House of Helsinglight and we’re running a bit behind schedule with some crucial stages with the heating system that we need to finish before winter arrives. We have therefor taken the decision that we unfortunately need to cancel the upcoming workshops we had planned in for the end of year and postpone them til the year 2020!

    Creating Baba Yaga Hut - Helsinglight Folklore Hotel

    We decided we want to share another creative vision and project of ours that we have been working on and planning for a while. Our work, dreams and goals with Helsinglight is to create an unique and alternative cultural destination. A destination where people from all over the world can come to create, live or visit with unique conference and event possibilities too. The very first house we're in the planning progress of now, is to build and create the "Baba Yaga hut", inspired by the tale of the witch Baba Yaga, in the Slavic Folklore.

    During the autumn and winter, we will introduce new courses and workshops at House of Helsinglight. Everything from the creation of masks in silicone, loose parts (prosthetics), casting of the face in plaster (Lifecasting), fantasy hat making course, basic course in burlesque, etc.

    Watercolor artist Robin Tynan from UK visits Helsinglight AAiR - Alternative Artist in Residence

    Next artist arriving to try out Helsinglight AAiR - Alternative Artist in Residence will be watercolor artist Robin Tynan from Leeds, UK. Robin says art and creativity has always been a part of her life but it was only in early 2018 that she began focussing on using watercolour and fountain pen. She found the ease and speed of how images could be created to be very freeing and well suited to the peculiarities of living with a chronic illness.
