Description
Mehron Rigid Collodion "Scarring Liquid" is a professional SFX product designed to create realistic scar and damaged skin effects. The clear liquid dries quickly and contracts the skin, giving a natural, scar-like appearance. Apply directly with the included brush and build up 3–5 layers for a deeper effect.
As this is a strong product, and especially if you have sensitive skin, it's recommended to protect the skin first with a barrier product like Mehron Barrier Spray, which forms a protective layer. Do not apply near the eyes or mouth, and always perform a patch test on a small area of skin before full use. Discontinue use immediately if you experience discomfort or irritation.
Rigid Collodion should be removed carefully using acetone, isopropyl alcohol, spirit gum remover, or an oil-based makeup remover. Avoid peeling it off without remover, as this may damage the skin. Follow up with a moisturizer to rehydrate the skin.
Perfect for cosplay, theatre, film, or Halloween. Not for use on children!

Usage
Application
-
Sketch out your design using a red lip pencil or other makeup.
-
Apply a thin line of Rigid Collodion on areas of the skin with more “flesh” or looser skin. (Note: if applied to areas with frequent movement, such as near the mouth, the collodion may crack when the skin moves.)
-
As the formula dries, it will contract and wrinkle the skin. (If the skin is too tight, the scar effect may not appear as effectively.)
-
For deeper scars, apply multiple layers, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next.
-
Warnings:
For external use only.
Not recommended for sensitive skin or delicate areas of the face.
Always test a small area first; discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Flammable – keep away from open flame.
Use in a well-ventilated area.
Keep out of reach of children and do NOT apply on children.Artist Tip:
To create an old scar, use a medium brown pencil to lightly shade the center. Blend and soften the color with a brush.
For a fresh scar, apply a light pink tone and blend it out. This also helps reduce shine.
Removal
-
To remove Rigid Collodion, apply acetone, spirit gum remover, isopropyl alcohol, or a strong oil-based makeup remover to a cotton pad.
-
Hold it against the collodion for a few seconds to dissolve the adhesive, then gently wipe or peel it off.
Important: Do not try to peel off the collodion without using a remover – this can damage the skin.
Finish by applying a moisturizer to rehydrate and soothe the skin.
Storage
- Store cool and dry
