We would like to introduce Fredrik Lindgren who has come to Helsinglight to do his thesis in prop making. From having a dream of becoming an orthopedic technician with Halloween as his favorite holiday, the interest in creating costumes and masks grew stronger. He therefore moved from Umeå to Skellefteå to begin his education in film design with prop making as his main subject matter.
Fredrik met Petra Shara Stoor and Fredrik Fernlund during the Nordsken exhibition in Skellefteå last year. Helsinglight had a booth at the exhibition and Fredrik fell for the style of Helsinglight's art form and Petra's cool masks. The fact that Petra and Fredrik were pleasant and easy to be with made him visit Helsinglight shortly after to look over the possibility of doing his degree production with them. Said and done and now he is here and will stay for about 8 weeks.
Since Helsinglight is in the build-up phase, Fredrik sees his chance to gain more experience than being at a well-established company. He now has the possibility to take a part of valuable knowledge on how to build a new company and brand. He also looks forward to trying new mask-making techniques. While we sit and talk, Fredrik sits and sculptes a skull to one of Helsinglight's many projects, Baba Yaga's house. The challenge is to make it more than just a skull - it should also take a breath of Helsinglights spirit.
