Group 4 has finished their creative challenge and we are excited to present to you their final photos of the character created. The theme for their challenge was to create a whimsical, trickstery little owl in clay. An owl with magical abilities that lives in the deep dark forests of Helsinglight. When we have presented the final work by every creative challenger/contestant in group 4 we will announce the winner of the group that will advance and compete in the finals later on. This is the final result by Maria Dahl, creative challenger, group 4.
The Owl “Owlivia” by Maria Dahl
First of all I would like to thank Petra and Fredrik for a fantastic well organized and cozy competition! When I saw the first participants and their creations, I became very interested and curious, they seemed to have so much fun. So when there were places left to participate myself, I had to take a chance even though I have never done this. The heart said YES, and thinking it goes as it goes. I love fantasy so it was very exciting all the way from getting the package with clay to the competition ending and you can see what the others in the team have created in the same theme as yourself. Can say that it was extremely difficult to hold back loads of ideas, since you have to adapt in order for both time and clay to end!
Owlivia
There is a story... That if you ever get lost in the woods you should whisper * Oowliviiaa *, then you can hear the whirring sound round the trees, a quick shadow sweeping above you, and if you look up, you can see that she is circling over there to confirm that she sees you and then shows you the way out of the forest. You heard about her? No? Let me tell you her story...
A very long time ago there was a forester who lived deep in the old forests in Helsinglight. He was not any forester, no he was Morgathorn. He was a tall and powerful man with magical powers. He had a big heart and was an animal lover with the purest soul, he helped all the animals, for example, who were got hurt, stuck in hollow caves and even small animals that got lost in the huge forest. And he took care of the big trees and all the plants in nature, he cared about them all and was a highly respected and loved person. One day he found a scarred and sad owl inside an old stock, how it ended up nobody knows.
But he brought the owl home and when no one knew who she was he let her stay and she grew safe, happy and full of life. They found strong bonds in each other right from the start and became inseparable friends. They had a great time together and then came the day Morgathorn lay on his deathbed, the whole forest gathered and they mourned greatly. The rays of the sun were making their way through the trees, creating a fine ceremony on the spot. What happened to the owl? Well he had named her for Owlivia, and during those years together he had created an enchanted amulet that she would receive on the day he would go away.
His magic was passed through the amulet and it had now spread across her body. He had given her a new life, with qualities that would help her with her vital mission. Helping injured animals, helping lost little kids home to their families again. She also helped leave messages for animals that may have lived in other forests. She loved her life's mission, you could always see her being happy and always so kind and helpful. That was the story of Owlivia. And here you see that she actually exists.
